What Is Eternal Loop?

Eternal Loop is a concept album built on the idea of cycles. The album is a cinematic experience spanning 16 tracks, each representing a different moment in a narrative arc exploring love, loss, transformation, acceptance, and rebirth.

The sonic palette includes synthwave foundations rooted in '80s nostalgia and futurism, electronic experimentation and layered textures, trip-hop grooves and rhythmic sophistication, vulnerable vocal storytelling, and orchestral and ambient interludes.

The emotional arc flows from establishing the dreamscape in the opening tracks, through peak emotion and conflict in the middle section, to climax and turning point, finally arriving at acceptance and transformation in the closing tracks.

Each song flows into the next like chapters in a story. Without spoiling the experience, the album explores loneliness and connection, memory and repetition, transformation, and the possibility of breaking cycles. Listen from start to finish. Let it wash over you.

Why I Created This Album

Over my 30+ year music career, I've explored many sounds and styles. But Eternal Loop represents something I've never attempted before: a complete concept album with narrative depth, sonic cohesion, and emotional vulnerability.

I wanted to create something that respects the listener's intelligence, stands the test of time, captures a specific moment, and invites repeated listening with new layers revealed with each play.

This album is my most ambitious work to date.

Back to the Arcade was the culmination of 30 years. It was complete, self-contained, a full statement.

From Back to the Arcade to The Drones

Back to the Arcade was about returning to club roots and honoring 30 years of electronic music. The Drones is different. Darker. More conceptual. The Drones is a gothic AI girl band concept. Four synthetic personas, each with their own narrative, creating a dark synthwave/industrial sound. The debut album “Night Battles in Air” releases Halloween 2026.

Why did this project emerge? Feedback from Back to the Arcade showed that listeners connected most with emotional, narrative-driven content. They wanted to understand the story behind the music, not just hear the production.

The Drones takes that insight and builds an entire concept around it. Instead of “Fabian Starr makes music,” it's “Four synthetic characters navigate a dark world through music.” Every track tells a story. Every image builds the world.

The Concept: Gothic AI Girl Band

“Night Battles in Air” follows four personas: Noir (the introspective one), Static (the fractured one), Echo (the haunted one), and Apex (the confrontational one). Together, they tell an arc: struggle, fragmentation, haunting, confrontation. A narrative across 12 tracks. Each character has aesthetic, production signature, lyrical themes, and narrative role.

Listeners don't just hear music. They meet characters. They follow a story.

The Third Project: Eternal Loop

While The Drones tackles the gothic narrative angle, Eternal Loop explores a different theme: human life journey. “Eternal Loop” is a 16-track concept album following a single person's life from childhood through old age. Each track represents a life stage: Birth, Childhood Wonder, Adolescence, Young Adulthood, Midlife, Wisdom, and Legacy.

Musically, the sound evolves across the album. Childlike wonder in early tracks. Complexity and conflict in middle. Resignation and beauty in final tracks. Lyrically, the narrative follows one person's internal experience of aging.

This project exists because listener feedback emphasized emotional impact. “Your music helped me through something difficult.” That's the starting point for Eternal Loop: music as companion through life's chapters.

In life, we experience this constantly. We think we’ve moved past something, and then it resurfaces in a new form. We think we’re done with someone, and then they reappear. We think we’ve learned something, and then we’re learning it all over again at a deeper level.

That’s the loop. Not a trap. Not something to resist. But something to understand.

So we built an album around that idea. Musically and lyrically, you’ll hear themes and motifs return. You’ll hear conversations that seem to end and then reappear transformed. You’ll recognize sounds that you’ve heard before, but in a completely different context.
